Deputy Manager – Sustainable Banking

Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to integrate holistic Sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations into the Bank’s products, services, and operations. You will ensure alignment with the Sri Lanka Banks’ Association Sustainable Banking Initiative, the SSCI framework, and international best practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the implementation of the Environmental and Social Risk Management System (ESMS).

Collaborate closely with Credit and Risk Management teams to meet the Bank’s environmental and social objectives.

Advocate for sustainable banking practices among key stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

Education: A degree or equivalent qualification in Sustainability, Eco-Business Management, Environmental Economics, or a related field.

Experience: At least six (6) years of experience in sustainable development; exposure to the Banking industry is a significant advantage.

Knowledge: A deep understanding of social and environmentally sustainable finance, along with knowledge of regulatory banking policies.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization (Advanced Excel & Power BI preferred).

Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse organizational boundaries.
