Merchandiser ‐ Development
(Based at Biyagama)

We are in pursuit of a skilled individual to effectively handle a portfolio of customers from the receipt of inquiries/orders to the transfer of orders to manufacturing units in order to meet business objectives such as customer contentment and retention, through high levels of service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and facilitate the development, completion and despatch of all development, fit and marketing related samples through Service Excellence with a pro-active approach, timeliness and accuracy of communication and effective problem solving within stipulated time frames to meet requirements.
- Negotiate price and finalization with customer through effective garment cost engineering and resourceful approach in keeping with customer expectations in order to meet company business objectives.
- Initiate sourcing of raw materials and negotiate terms such as price, delivery etc. in order to optimize benefits, in line with customer expectations, to secure the order.
- Follow-up with suppliers to ensure that raw materials are approved for timely execution of marketing samples in-line with customer requirements.
- Communicate with the manufacturing unit in order to provide information for procurement of bulk fabric, trims etc.
- Prepare time and action calendars for bulk order processing and monitor progress of order throughout the production process and coordinate with customers and business units to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Obtain customer requirements in terms of compliance and quality and communicate the same to the factory and thereby facilitate factory approvals for customers.
- Carry-out market research on market trends, competitive environment, new developments in the sector etc, and provide information to the management to facilitate business decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the similar capacity
- Good Communication and Coordination skills
