SENIOR EXECUTIVE – PROCUREMENT CONNECT 

(Based at Bodyline – Horana)

We are in pursuit of a skilled individual to join the Intimates team as a Senior Executive – Procurement Connect. This role would require you to Represent the Procurement function whilst integrating closely with the Merchandising teams, by servicing the allocated customers on all relevant procurement functions, in order to ensure smooth operations in the merchandising team as well as the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Participating in T&A discussions on new orders/repeat orders to and represent the procurement function.
• Accept the orders from the merchandising teams and cross-check the lead time details with agreed lead times. If there are any deviations on the requested material ETAs, call out to merchandising and planning departments to maintain the correct PSDs.
• Executing the New Customer Orders Raw Material Ordering Process based on their requirements.
• Follow-up order confirmation process within the procurement team by respecting T&A timelines.
• Ensure the team adheres to set SOP on Liabilities (greige or dyed) taken on behalf of the Brands. This means reporting liabilities based on a pre-defined cadence.
• Handle order confirmation process with merchandising & planning departments within the stipulated timelines.
• Communicate with business teams on the possible raw materials air cost and another cost of failures on delivery deviations for items along with the reasons.
• Participate in weekly Merch & planning meetings representing the procurement function whilst providing the relevant information on behalf of the Procurement team.
• Ensuring material availability according to the agreed arrival date by liaising with the Pod leads & members.
• Participate in daily operations meetings, representing the procurement function and initiating problem-solving with respective managers.
• Follow up on the operational issues and support the team as and when required.
• Initiate the operation plan on critical items deviating from the committed material ETAs.
• Prepare weekly risk items/ style details and publish them within the value stream to take necessary actions.
• Prepare material-related risk items/ style report and participate in weekly alignment call with a customer, representing the Procurement team.
• Take action on unplanned material usage /wastages during the production process. For reordering, communicate and seek approval with relevant stakeholders as it could impact the profitability of the Order.
• Coordinate Raw Material Writing process within the Customer Account with Finance, track significant Costs of failures and initiate problem-solving and discussions to improve.
• Call out critical issues impacting loading or garment deliveries to the line manager with a copy to the Head of Department.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Management/ Logistics/ Supply chain management.
• 3-4 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of apparel manufacturing.
• Negotiation and influencing skills.
• Leadership skills.
• Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
