Credit Controller

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting: Prepare regular accounts receivable, aging, and collection performance reports.

  • Collection Management: Monitor customer credit accounts to ensure the timely collection of outstanding balances.

  • Coordination: Conduct division-wise debtor meetings with sales teams to review updates and resolve collection issues.

  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to internal credit policies and financial regulations.

  • Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputes.

  • Data Integrity: Ensure customer account records remain accurate and up-to-date within the system.

  • Financial Closing: Support month-end and year-end closing activities specifically related to accounts receivable.

  • Strategy: Recommend corrective actions to minimize bad debt and optimize company cash flow.

  • Credit Assessment: Evaluate customer creditworthiness and establish or review credit limits according to company policy.

Person Specifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance or a partial professional qualification (AAT, CA, CIMA, or equivalent).

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable Officer, or in a similar financial role.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of credit control and AR processes. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel.

  • Systems: Exposure to SAP ERP is a distinct advantage.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with a strong eye for detail.

  • Attributes: A proactive problem-solver who can work independently to meet tight deadlines.
