Assistant Manager – Bunker Trading & Hedging

The Role
You will drive the company’s fuel trading and hedging strategy by providing data-driven market insights, executing strategic buy/sell decisions, and managing price risk. This role is pivotal in optimizing margins through sophisticated commodity trading, effective hedging, and high-level market intelligence.
Core Responsibilities

Market Intelligence: Monitor global benchmarks (Brent, WTI, Singapore Gasoil, VLSFO) and analyze macroeconomic/geopolitical trends to provide actionable price outlooks.

Trading Strategy: Recommend optimal procurement and sales strategies while supporting real-time pricing for customer quotations and identifying arbitrage opportunities.

Risk Management: Develop and execute hedging strategies using swaps, futures, and options. Monitor price volatility and ensure all actions align with the company’s risk appetite.

Trade Execution: Execute trades within approved limits and ensure full compliance with internal controls and documentation standards.

Performance Analytics: Track trading P&L, evaluate hedge effectiveness, and maintain performance dashboards for key risk indicators.
Person Specifications

Education: Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Certification: Professional qualifications such as CFA or FRM are highly advantageous.

Experience: 3–5 years in commodity trading, oil & gas, shipping, or financial markets.

Preferred Background: Direct exposure to fuel trading, derivatives, or risk management.
