Assistant Engineer – Radio Network Planning
Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer will handle the end-to-end planning and optimization of 2G, 4G, and 5G networks. Key focus areas include coverage and capacity planning, network optimization, QoS monitoring, and troubleshooting. You will also develop indoor and outdoor customer experience (CX) solutions for the RAN to meet divisional targets.
Core Responsibilities

Strategic Planning: Contribute feedback to Regional Nominal Plans for each Business Phase (BP) and adjust site plans based on evolving business needs.

Site Validation: Confirm and finalize site locations following Joint Feasibility Studies (JFS).

Capacity Management: Develop and revise quarterly, seasonal, and special-event capacity plans for the region.

Performance Optimization: Monitor and improve 2G, 4G, and 5G network performance through continuous tracking and feature trials.

QoS & Troubleshooting: Perform daily Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring and resolve regional network issues promptly.

Customer Experience: Visit customer sites to gather field data and implement timely solutions for service complaints.
Entry Requirements

Education: A mandatory NVQ/IVQ Level 5 qualification (e.g., City & Guilds Advanced Diploma, HNDE, NDT, NDES, or equivalent in Telecommunications or Engineering).

Experience: At least two years of post-qualification experience in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.

Technical Skills: * Strong understanding of 2G, 4G, and 5G systems and operations.

Solid grasp of Network Planning and Optimization fundamentals.

Proficiency with industry-standard radio network planning tools.
